Mia – Strong, Solitary, and Safe

Meet Mia, one of the magnificent tigers who calls EARS – Endangered Animal Rescue Sanctuary home. Tigers are naturally solitary animals, yet they remain some of the most iconic — and sadly, most exploited — big cats in the world.

At EARS, we’re dedicated to giving rescued tigers like Mia the safety, care, and dignity they deserve for the rest of their lives. Many of our residents came to us after being kept in unsuitable environments or used for entertainment.

Here, they enjoy spacious habitats, clean water, shade, enrichment activities, and the kind of attentive care that allows them to truly thrive.

DELILAH

Delilah loves her surroundings and enjoys relaxing in a fresh tub of water on sunny, hot days. Like many tigers, she has a natural love for water, using it to cool off and play. Her calm, observant nature makes her a favorite among visitors on our guided tours.

BODIE

Bodie he’s a fan of the poolside life, often seen basking in the warm Florida sun after a refreshing swim. Bodie’s relaxed, confident personality shows just how much a stable sanctuary environment can transform an animal’s life.

TAMARI

Tamari is a magnificent, bright-coated tiger with a loving personality that shines in her interactions with caregivers. Her gentle nature and confidence make her a standout presence, and she continues to thrive while forming strong bonds with those who care for her.

ASIA

We call her Baby Asia because of her youthful personality. Asia is a 10-year-old spunky girl loves to play and keep her keepers on there toes! Asia loves sunning herself and playing in the water. Her playful spirit makes her a delight to watch, especially during enrichment activities designed to encourage her natural hunting and exploring instincts.

MALAYA AND LIBERTY

Although pictured here together, now have separate bedrooms. Like most sisters later in life argued and wanted their own space, remember tigers are naturally solitary animals and when the opportunity arose, they chose separate bedrooms! We are constantly trying to give our animals what they want and need even if it means separating sisters.

STRIPES & DAPHNE

White tigers are really no different than orange tigers except 1 recessive gene. These 2 have called EARS home for over 10 years and recently been separated to have their own space without having to share bedrooms. Although they are sisters they have totally different personalities.

MAXIMUS

Maximus lives at our satellite location and is our number one ambassador for teaching people all about tigers. He’s also a crowd favorite at the EARS car show guest sign up to come and meet Maximus in his own habitat on the same property as car show fundraiser. His calm temperament and impressive size make him an unforgettable presence for everyone who meets him.

MOLLY

Molly has been a resident of EARS since 2015. Like many of our tigers, she’s a lover of water and enjoys her time in the sun as well as stalking and hiding in her grass and trees.

Why Tigers Need Sanctuaries

Helping Tigers at EARS

It takes significant resources to care for tigers:
Each adult tiger eats 10–15 pounds of meat daily
Secure, enriched habitats must be maintained year-round
Veterinary care for large carnivores is specialized and costly
Enrichment is needed to stimulate natural behaviors and reduce stress
